The creation of the National Chamber Ensemble “Kyiv Soloists” is the fulfillment of the dream of the famous violinist, professor, People’s Artist of Ukraine Bohodar Kotorovych (1941-2009). The collective, recognized by listeners and critics in different countries of the world, unites talented young musicians of Ukraine. Most of them are laureates of national and international competitions and represent the school of B. Kotorovych. Currently, the artistic director of the collective is B. Kotorovych’s student Dmytro Tkachenko.
The high poetic spirit of the artists, combined with the avant-garde inherent in Ukrainian musical culture, conquered the world audience in such famous halls as the Luxembourg Palace and UNESCO in Paris, the Commissariat Opera in Berlin, the Grand National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Flagey in Belgium, Radio Kulturhaus and the Liechtenstein Castle Concert Hall in Vienna, Esplanade in Singapore, and at the World Exhibition Expo (Japan). The ensemble is an invited participant of the international festivals named after D. Oistrakh (Pärnu, Estonia), contemporary music “Warsaw Autumn” (Warsaw, Poland), contemporary music in Krakow (Poland), classical music in Ruhr (Germany), symphonic music in Algeria, Gabala Festival in Azerbaijan and “Musical Premieres of the Season”, “Kyiv Music Fest”, “Gogolfest”, “New Music”, “ChamberArt Music” in Ukraine.
For its active creative activity in representing Ukrainian performing culture in the world, the ensemble “Kyiv Soloists” received the status of “Ambassador of Ukrainian Culture” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. In 2010, by decree of the President of Ukraine, the collective was awarded the title “National Chamber Ensemble”.
